All liars get caught up in their lies, make contradictory statements and/ or contradict others who are lying in the same cause.
And - particularly important: If such statesmen were to brawl in the White House and similar buildings because one of them had not completely fulfilled his promise, there would be blood up to the knee in the White House every day. They do not fulfill their promises on very big/ important issues at all, but often do just the opposite, that sometimes leads to destructions and wars ... not to mention when it comes to a somewhat larger or smaller amount of money.
To note: The Black Eyes sometimes to often appear quite suddenly/ unexpectedly, so that the person concerned has no time/ opportunity to hide/ mask them with cosmetics/ make-up - but is photographed or filmed as such.
If they had the time/ opportunity for it, they all would cover/ make invisible such bruises with make-up.
Otherwise, Musk would not go for a beer at the neighborhood pub without covering the bruise ... out of vanity, or at least to avoid people wondering or asking embarrassing questions - not to mention the farewell party at the White House, appearing before the cameras and the world public in such a state.
